Casa Morosina: Where History Meets Timeless Comfort

A few years ago, we realized that Svetvinčenat-a small Istrian town with an extraordinary past-carried within it a potential that had yet to be fully revealed. We wanted to create something unlike anything seen before, a place where history would not simply be admired from afar, but lived and breathed in the everyday.

Our vision was clear from the start: to build a space where every detail tells a story, where visitors could feel as though they stepped back in time, into an era when life moved slower, traditions mattered, and craftsmanship was celebrated.

Nothing inside Casa is accidental. The furniture was carefully chosen and lovingly restored, piece by piece, by local company Raptor Design that understands the delicate balance between preserving authenticity and creating comfort. Each chair, table, cabinets, closet…carries a unique mark of history, revived once again within these walls. The kitchen is perhaps the most striking detail: carved from a single block of stone, it took months of patient work to bring it to life.

The name Casa Morosina carries the spirit od Svetvinčenat itself. It was inspired by the Morosini-Grimani family, the noble Venetian dynasty that ruled this region and left behind one of Istria`s most significant landmarks-the Morosini-Grimani Castle, one of the best-preserved Renaissance fortress in Croatia.

A Journey into the Past, Designed for Today

Life in Istria moves at it`s own gentle rhythm. Here, people truly know how to enjoy the moment-whether it`s sipping coffee in the town square, sharing a meal with friends, or simply sitting under the shade of centuries-old olive trees. The region offers a balance: peace and tranquility for those who seek rest, yet also countless possibilities for exploration and activity

It is this harmony – of history and nature, of rest and adventure, of authenticity and flavor – that makes Istria an unforgettable place, and Casa Morosina the perfect home from which to discover it all.

“We shape our dwellings, and afterwards our dwellings shape us.”
